Come and experience the 1928 silent film King of Kings with improvised soundtrack provided by renowned organist Nigel Allcoat.

About the film

King of Kings is a historical epic film directed by Cecil B. DeMille, based on the final weeks of Jesus’ life before his crucifixion.

Nigel Allcoat

Nigel Allcoat is an organist with an international reputation for his improvisations. He studied in England, Italy and the Netherlands. He has performed throughout Europe, Canada, the USA and Australia. He has held teaching positions at The Royal Academy of Music, The Royal Northern College of Music and taught several students from Oxford and Cambridge Universities.


Event information

Entry is free and seating will be allocated on arrival.

The film will start at 1900 and finish around 2100.

Donations are welcome and can be made online and in-person at the cathedral.
