Songs of Farewell
November 12 @ 19:45 - 21:15
Parry’s set of six Songs of Farewell was written during the First World War and comprises five poems and one psalm, set with increasing complexity for unaccompanied choir. Purcell’s Music on the Death of Queen Mary was written for the funeral of Queen Mary II with texts from the Book of Common Prayer. In this gentle and intimate work, the choir will be joined by brass from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
