A small step towards tackling period poverty

We are aware that there many people who might be struggling to afford sanitary products. This is a particular challenge as the cost of living continues to rise.

Thanks to some generous donations, we now have some small packs of sanitary towels. These are packaged discreetly in a brown paper bags and can be requested with no questions asked.

Leaflets are available in this area that can be handed to a member of staff. We hope this might be useful for those who feel uncomfortable asking directly.

We are open daily for visitors. A Verger or a member of the welcome team is on hand at all times when the cathedral is open.

Georgina Gardner Stockley, Welcome Manager at Birmingham Cathedral, said: “People of all backgrounds, ages and faiths come through our doors everyday. This is just one small way that we can help those who may be struggling to afford some of the essentials.”
