Christian worship is at the heart of our community, enhanced by music from our Cathedral Choir.
Birmingham Cathedral is a church of the Anglican Communion, seat of the Bishop of Birmingham. We are home to a vibrant worshipping community. Our worship is enhanced by Anglican Choral tradition, with our excellent professional Cathedral Choir of boys, girls and adults. Our choir sings five services each week in various formations during choir term times.
Everyone is welcome to attend any our public services, as we rejoice in the diversity of the communities we serve . We aim to promote inclusion as widely as possible.
We are also committed to running regular activities and events which explore Public Theology – the way in which we live out our Christian faith in today’s world.
As a parish church we welcome enquiries about baptisms and weddings. Email enquiries@birminghamcathedral.com for more information.

Ministry for Wholeness and Healing
We have returned to offering the ministry of Wholeness and Healing in the name of Jesus Christ. This will be available during the 1100 Choral/Sung Eucharist on the fourth Sunday of the month from February – October 2024.
During the service, there is an opportunity to come forward for prayer with the laying on of hands and anointing for yourself. If there is someone else for whom you wish to seek prayer, there are designated people available after the service to talk and pray with you.
In the Gospels we read of Jesus healing those who were sick and suffering. The Church recognises that we all stand in need of healing in different ways – whether for our physical or mental wellbeing; our relationships; or our relationship with God. To us all, Jesus says ‘Come’.
This ministry is not an alternative to medical care, and we fully support the work of doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals. All healing comes from God, and that will often be received through the skill of medicine. The Church’s ministry of wholeness and healing is a way of commending ourselves into God’s hands, seeking the deep wholeness, healing and peace that come from him, and reconciling ourselves to God’s loving purposes for us, whatever they may be.
Jesus says: ‘Come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.’
Matthew 11: 28 – 30
